Brad Paisley Tickets - Paisley Leads CMA Nominations with Six
by Brent Warnken
Brad Paisley, the reigning Male Vocalist of the Year in the 2008 CMA Awards, is vying for a repeat position in '09, as he's just recently been announced as one of the five nominees for the Male Vocalist category at this year's CMAs. Paisley is sure to be the star of the show at the upcoming 43rd annual CMA Awards, as he is the leader of the pack going into the awards ceremony with six nominations spanning the 12 categories (only seven of which he could have qualified for). Paisley is also a co-host of the event for the second year in a row along with the stunning Carrie Underwood, bracing the nation for a countrified night of entertainment on Nov. 11, when this year's CMA Awards will commence.
As the frontrunner for the 2009 CMA Awards, Brad Paisley is nominated for a whopping six awards, taking nods for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Single of the Year ("Then"), Album of the Year (American Saturday Night), Song of the Year ("Then") and Music Video ("Start a Band," with Keith Urban). Trailing Paisley in nominations are Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown, who each have received four nods for awards at the CMAs, and ex Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker has even come up with one nod, marking his first as a solo country music act.
The nominees for this year's 43rd annual CMA Awards were announced Sept. 9 in a segment during ABC's Good Morning America program that featured a video highlights package and music clips of nominated artists, and Darius Rucker and Lee Ann Womack were on hand to announce the nominees on the television program. The 2009 CMAs will be broadcasted live from Nashville's famed Sommet Center on Nov. 11, 2009 on ABC from 8-11 p.m. EST, and the awards show known as "Country Music's Biggest Night" is sure to draw in millions of spectators, as the 2008 CMA Awards garnered 15.9 total viewers.
Country music fans who have gotten Brad Paisley tickets to concerts online know why Paisley has been nominated for so many CMA Awards, as the energetic country crooner has been burning up the Music City scene for years with his witty songs and freewheeling attitude. Paisley first stepped into the spotlight in the late '90s after landing a songwriting gig with EMI, and his debut solo album Who Needs Pictures debuted in 1999 to rave reviews, producing two chart-toppers in "He Didn't Have to Be" and "We Danced."
Paisley skyrocketed in the country music industry after that, and he's had nothing but success in Nashville ever since, landing No. 1 albums with Mud on the Tires (2004), Time Well Wasted (2006), 5th Gear (2007), Play (2008) and American Saturday Night (2009). This three-time Grammy Award winner will once again dominate the scene when he makes an appearance as co-host and nominee of the 43rd annual CMA Awards this fall, and in the meantime his American Saturday Night Tour continues to make a splash on the touring circuit, as well.
